Actor Sivakarthikeyan feels nostalgic as Namma Veetu Pillai clocks 1 year – #1yearNVP

Sivakarthikeyan’s Namma Veettu Pillai, which opened to rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike, topped the os office and went on to be the highest grossed movie of the actor. The film was released a year ago and as the movie rigs one year, Pandiraj took to his social media handle to share memories of the film. He posted, ‘#1yearBBNVP #1YrOfFamiliesFavNVP NVP is very close to my heart..It has gifted me many brothers, sisters, Family friends from Audience, Artistes & production.NVP gave me a lot..Really Happy to celebrate first year anniversary of NVP. Tnk u @Siva_Kartikeyan @sunpictures & team Folded hands.” Retweeting the post, Sivakarthikeyan thanked the director on the success and wrote, “Sir Big thanks to you, @sunpictures #Barathiraja sir @immancomposer anna @sooriofficial anna and everyone involved in the film Folded handsThumbs upSmiling face with smiling eyes.”

Namma Veetu Pillai, is a family drama that brings back to theatres some elements that Tamil cinema has long been associated with – ‘thangachi-annan pasam’ (brother-sister affection), tonnes of festivals and heck, even a liberal dose of melodrama. It is to director Pandiraj’s credit that he manages to weave in adequate elements of love, sentiment and friendship in the dozen major characters (yes!) that will dominate the screen. The rural family entertainer, the film has music by D.Imman, Nirav Shah has cranked the camera while Ruben has done the editing and bankrolled by Sun pictures. The movie has an ensemble cast which includes Sivakarthikeyan, Aishwarya Rajesh, Anu Emmanuel P Bharathiraja, P Samuthirakani, Natarajan Subramanian (Natty), Soori, Yogi Babu, Vela Ramamoorthy, RK Suresh, Shanmugarajan, Subbu Panchu, Sheela Rajkumar and ‘Aadukalam’ Naren.
